Autumn Leaves   2 comments

Yellow red and gold,
back-lit by the low sun.
The light dancing in dappled patterns across the woodland floor.
Discarded leaves make a sound track as you walk, talk.
And pass the shortening days before the real cold of winter comes.
Kids run, kicking leaves in to the air,
but do not watch them fall.
Calling the dog they barge past and run in to the distance.
Stand still listen and watch the patterns of light, sound.
All around the mist and clearing and the sun warming, its last rays of the summer past.
Summers gone and autumns here, red yellow and golden leaves appear.
Golden corn fields ploughed to earthy brown.
And the autumn leaves all fall down.
